1st Offense: Depending on blood alcohol level, a first conviction carries a suspended license for three to seven months, fines approximating $500 and additional insurance surcharges of $1000 a year for three years.
2nd Offense: A second conviction is punished by two year loss of license and higher fines.
3rd Offense: A third conviction receives ten year suspension of license and mandatory 180 days in jail.
